Established in 2004, Daphne East Elementary, located just south of Daphne Middle School on County Road #13, has recently been recognized by the Alabama State Department of Education for overall performance on student achievement tests and by the Baldwin County Board of Education for best elementary school attendance. Daphne East’s instructional program emphasizes the Alabama Reading Initiative, and the campus serves as a Talents Unlimited Demonstration Site. Though Phase I of the school system’s Comprehensive Building Plan provides for an additional classroom wing to be constructed soon at Daphne East Elementary, a pilot growth study has recently been undertaken to determine the best way to utilize these funds and to plan for continuing development in the east Daphne area.
